Acute Myocardial Ischaemia Management of Complications

  1. Describe the complications of acute myocardial infarction
  2. Evaluate and diagnose complications of myocardial infarction including arrhythmias, heart failure and mechanical complications :ventricular septal rupture (VSR), free wall rupture (FWR), and ischemic mitral regurgitation (IMR).
  3. Understand the underlying mechanisms of mechanical complications after acute myocardial infarction (AMI)
  4. Discuss the distinctions between mechanical complications management
  5. Review basic pathophysiology and practical management principles for RV infarction
  6. Describe indications and techniques for invasive hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation of measure and derived hemodynamic data during complications of acute myocardial infarction
  7. Outline the value of echocardiography as a tool for diagnosis and evaluating prognosis of patients with complications after myocardial infarction
  8. Describe the use of antiarrhythmics and temporary pacemaker in emergency situations for severe arrhythmias secondary to acute myocardial infarction
