  1. Describe the relevance of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and antimicrobial stewardship (AMS)
  2. List commonly used antibiotics, understand their mode of action and describe their main pharmacological properties.
  3. Outline the clinical use of microbiological diagnostics and biomarkers
  4. Describe the clinical challenges when the initiation of antimicrobial therapy is considered
  5. Outline how antimicrobial therapy can be changed / adapted based on microbiology reports (targeted therapy)
